April 2023 The Audio Analyst's Conversation With Parasound's
CEO David Sheriff
Today we hear from the new CEO of Parasound, David Sheriff. He took the time to outline his thoughts and plans for the future of one of today's most respected audio manufacturers. Give him a listen and see what the future of Parasound holds.
Richard Schram, Greg Weaver, And David Sheriff
On December 14th (2022) I received an e-mail from Parasound's PR representative, Gorden Sell. It announced that Richard Schram had retired and sold the company he had founded in 1981 to an entrepreneur active in product growth and supply-chain management, David Sheriff.
Now, as David had no real history in the audio industry, I knew nothing about him, so I was inspired to do some research. I soon learned that he graduated from the US Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering in 1988, and then served five years as an A-10 fighter pilot. In January 1993 he made the move into the world of business, finance, and management consulting when he became president of the Astron DS Corporation, of Chicago, a company that specializes in wooden household furnishings.
Then in January of 2000, he became President and CEO of what was then known as VBS -- Visual Business Solutions, in Madison, WI. VBS first became Petros724 but is now doing business as Synergy Resources. They were an Informatics/ Enterprise Resource Planning / Strategic Planning Partner firm that specialized in organic process development and consulting, product growth, and supply-chain management. He was still involved with VBS, and in April of 2012 he also took on the role of CEO of Displays Now, Inc., of Middleton, WI, which offers digital signage software solutions. With that bit of background, let's take a look at and listen to the wealth of information that David was willing to share with me in this, his first interview about this sea change at Parasound.
