Those of you who saw our Enjoy the Music.com Hi-Fi News & Record Review 1999 show report will remember the killer cool colorful Nimis integrated tube amplifiers. Coming in five gloriously fun colors like Blue, Green, Orange, Purple and Yellow, this tube amplifier uses two EL84 tubes per channel to produce approximately 15 wpc. Four inputs and tape output are standard as well. The entire amplifier construction internally is more or less monoblock-like with the main exception being sharing the main power transformer.

Seen above is a wonderful 3D rendering by Kolja Tatic. While i wish it was a real tube amplifier, it is for now only a beautiful dream. Maybe some manufacture will see the above image and hire Kolja to visually design an amplifier for them. Until then we have the glorious picture above... and a dream.

Audio Note Japan Neiro

Hand-made to exacting specification in Japan, possibly the ultimate 2A3 amplifier in the world could be none other than the Audio Note Neiro. It features zero-feedback parallel single-ended output stage with precision hand wound output transformer using age annealed copper wire on both primary and secondary windings, silver foil signal capacitors and all things tweaky. The hardwired circuit uses Audio Note's own 99.99% pure silver cable. The chassis is made from pure copper while the critical power supply is valve rectified. The power is also choke filtered while high quality audio specific Cerafine electrolytic power capacitors are used.

Brought to us from reader Luis Borrego is the Nestorovic Laboratories Model NA-1 Tube Power Amplifier. It is a single channel amplifier (monoblock) with 150 watts power rating into either 4 or 8 ohms. The output stage employs a parallel push-pull configuration with loading in both the anode and the cathode circuits. The input stage is also in push-pull configuration, and has automatic self balance. This allows either single ended or differential input configurations.
