Manufacture's Viewpoint
By Ray Kimber of Kimber Kable

Dear Friends,
I feel distressed and warned by the failure of Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab,
you should too!
It is of crucial importance to preserve the financial strength of smaller record companies. It is these small companies who provide the push for
musical diversity and technical innovation. The bottom line (pun very much intended) is that the records and Compact Discs from these small
companies must be purchased. It is already too late for MoFi and others. We cannot
let this happen again!
Over the past few years I have become particularly close with Reference Recordings. This was a direct result of Jan Mancuso and me having the same
joy in silly jokes. During banter and laughter I suggested that we should co-exhibit during some future shows. We co-exhibited at the LA HiFi Show.
It was at this show that I was able spend more than the typical two minutes at any music booth.
Sheesh! I had no idea they had such amazing music! I simply had not taken the time to look, let alone purchase. Sure, I knew of a few of the discs,
but the other 99% . . . , nope. Have you listened to more than five of their discs? You really should!
Here is the reality check. Can you afford to buy a few hundred dollars of music from small record companies? Can you do it TODAY? Or, would you
rather be permanently deprived of being able to buy such music?
Stop what you are doing, pick up the phone right now, call at least three smaller companies and order at least 10 discs from each. Let them surprise,
delight and inspire you with their music. But, FIRST you must get out your credit card to surprise, delight and inspire them to make more music. It
will be bye bye Hi-Fi if we let this music die!
Call any of the smaller companies, they will not only be grateful for your business, but they will also recommend other deserving labels that would
interest you. If you need any phone numbers call us here at Kimber Kable 1-800-223-4039.
Sincerely,
Ray Kimber
P.S. Please take the time TODAY to encourage YOUR circle of friends to support small record companies. You certainly have my permission to
plagiarize, forward, reuse, re-send, re-state, copy and/or e-mail this letter.
