Soulution Audio 330 Stereo integrated Amplifier
Can a $20,000 amplifier be a bargain? Well it can if it sounds this good. Soulution make six figure amps, and this is their least expensive integrated amp. It's part of their 3 series, sitting below the midrange 5 series and the reference level 7 Series. What's astonishing here is just how close the 5 Series approaches the 7 Series in sound quality, and how again the 3 Series approaches the 5 Series. Maybe it won't be a perfect match for every speaker out there, which its bigger brothers might claim. But in my testing, it never came close to running out of juice, and it maintains its composure as you turn up the wick. Until you notice its prodigious bass quality you might think it's a tube amp. It has that special midrange presence that makes it especially musical. And its treble just goes on forever, sweet and clear. You can also dress the amp up to suit your requirements by adding a DAC section ($4125) or phono section ($3000) or both. Special features include ultrawide bandwidth, high speed feedback circuitry that allows higher levels of negative feedback to be used without the normal drawbacks, a dual mode volume control incorporating a discreet resistor ladder fed by highly regulated switched mode power supplies. The Soulution 330 may not be the most impressive looking Integrated amp for the money, but in my experience, it is the best sounding and it's built like a tank.
